Vacation Pt. 2

We headed into the mountains Wednesday morning.

After a quick stop at Silverthorne to get coffee and shop the outlets, we arrived in Breckenridge.

We checked into our condo, and hit Main to find a dinner spot. We ended up at Giampietros, and ordered a pizza. Little did we know, we would be eating that the rest of our trip. It was huge!!

See that pizza on the left? We ordered that....and it only came in one size. Huge. Thank goodness we had a fridge in our condo so it wouldn't go to waste. It made a good lunch on the trail the next day.

We hiked McCullough Gulch Thursday afternoon, after Luke's morning nap. It was a beautiful hike. It was mostly uphill and a bit difficult, especially with Luke on our backs, but we were glad to get some exercise.

 This is hard work, guys!!
We made it to the falls!! Time for a milk break!!

 How gorgeous is that view??

We absolutely love Colorado, and hope to live there (part-time) someday. If we end up settling in Hays as Isaac practicing as a hospitalist, he will have a 7-on, 7-off schedule. With a schedule like that, we could spend a good portion of the year in the mountains. What fun!!

That evening, we walked Main street again, and shared a couple martinis at Blue River Bistro. Then we headed back to the condo, where we watched the KSU game, and LRC had a snack.

Friday, we hit the bike trails. We have made the Breckenridge-Frisco and back trek before, but only made it 12 miles this time. We'll just blame that on the extra weight....not us being out of shape :)

There is a toy store on Main street, which we took Luke to every evening. They have a play area, which he very much enjoyed. He especially enjoyed Rody, the ride-on horse.

Friday evening, we ate at Breckenridge Brewery, and spent the rest of the evening walking Main, and the river walk.

Saturday morning, we were back on I-70, heading to Winter Park for my cousins wedding. It was a gorgeous, intimate wedding. I don't think there is a more beautiful backdrop for a wedding than Colorado in September.

Luke got a new bear, which we appropriately named Rocky.
Sunday morning, we headed home. We had a wonderful trip, and can't wait to return in March to ski!
